Desktop is the focused offline estimating tool. Cloud is the broader contractor platform. Both share the same estimating foundation.
No. Built Estimator Cloud runs entirely in your web browser. Any modern browser on Mac, Windows, or Chromebook works. No downloads, no admin rights, no IT involvement required.
Cloud projects are stored securely on our servers, encrypted at rest, with automatic daily backups. You can export your estimates as PDFs or files at any time. If you cancel your subscription, you'll have a 30-day window to export everything before data is removed.
Yes. Desktop and Cloud are completely separate products — some businesses use both intentionally. A common setup: the owner uses the Desktop app for their own estimating work while the rest of the team uses Cloud seats. Each requires its own license or subscription. Projects don't automatically sync between them, but you can export from Desktop and import into Cloud, or vice versa.
Yes. Cloud runs in any browser, so you can log in from your phone or tablet to check project status, review estimates, and manage your jobs. Full estimating and takeoff work is best on a laptop or desktop — most contractors build estimates at a desk and use their phone to check on projects from the field.
You'll retain access until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account is suspended and you have 30 days to export your data. There are no cancellation fees or penalties.
Each team member needs their own seat at $89/month. You manage seats and billing through the account portal. Contact us for team pricing if you need 5 or more seats.
