Built Estimator ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use Built Estimator software or the Built Estimator Cloud subscription service.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly when you create an account or use the Service:

• Account information: Name, email address, company name, and password (hashed — never stored in plain text)
• Project data: Estimate data, project names, and related content you create and store in Built Estimator Cloud
• Billing information: Processed entirely by Lemon Squeezy. We do not store your payment card details
• Usage information: Basic usage patterns to improve the software (if analytics are enabled)

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, operate, and maintain the Service
• To process billing and manage your subscription
• To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, billing notices)
• To respond to support requests
• To improve the software and Service

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your project data is stored in Supabase (a PostgreSQL database hosted in the US). Account authentication is managed by Supabase Auth. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest.

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, but no system is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining a strong password and protecting your account credentials.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the Service:

• Supabase — Authentication and cloud data storage
• Lemon Squeezy — Payment processing and subscription management
• Vercel — Hosting and serverless functions

Each of these providers maintains their own privacy practices. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, your project data is retained for 90 days to allow re-activation, then deleted. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict processing of your data
• Data portability (receive a copy of your data)

7. Cookies

Built Estimator Cloud uses browser localStorage (not cookies) to store your session information locally on your device. We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice in the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
